mornings throughout the Summer the Farmers Market returns to Merchants Square,
fresh local produce, flowers, seafood, freshly made bake goods and breads are
sold from street stalls that line the square. Cooking demonstrations and live

4 | Independence Day - Festivities throughout the
area - In Colonial Williamsburg - Fifes & Drums march to a field altar at Bruton
Parish, pause as the Virginia Liberty Bell tolls, hear a public reading of the
Declaration of Independence and musical concerts on Merchants Square. The day
ends with marches and fireworks. In Yorktown - A there is a hometown parade, marches,
re-enactors displaying field exhibits and celebrations ending with a concert and
fireworks. |
